Professor Alan Boobis OBE
Professor Boobis was appointed as a member in April 2003. He is also a member of COT. He is internationally recognised as an expert in metabolism and mechanistic studies on chemical carcinogens and chemical risk assessment. He has considerable previous experience, having been a member of the UK Advisory Committee on Pesticides and its medical and toxicology panel, which he chaired, and from work on WHO expert groups. He heads the Department of Health Toxicology Unit at Imperial College London, Hammersmith Campus.
